Chemifloc first to achieve the Irish Standard Mark for primary water treatment chemicals
Chemifloc - the largest producer of water treatment chemicals in Ireland, has become the first chemical manufacturer on the island of Ireland to achieve the Irish Standard Mark in relation to three chemicals it supplies to local authorities for purifying drinking water.
Mr. Maurice Buckley, CEO of the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) - pictured standing - presented Ed Storey, Managing Director, Chemifloc - pictured sitting - with three Irish Standard Mark certificates at Chemifloc’s headquarters in Shannon.

Increased public awareness about drinking water quality emphasises the need for the producer of public drinking water to minimise drinking water contamination risks which could arise from the use of unsuitable treatment chemicals.
To this end the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) has adopted into Irish Law the guidelines for the purchase of Chemicals used for treatment of water intended for human consumption, which have been prepared by the European Committee of Standardisation (CEN). The Irish standard reference number is I.S. CR 14269:2001 and copies of this are available from NSAI, Dublin, Tel. 01 8073800. (Updated 5/6/2003) |
